Apply it Unsure ??? Well, I guess you could but with what? Fingers ?? Spoon ?? LOL LOL

Sorry I know it's not funny and you must be in some discomfort with it. I really don't know the answer but I think I might eat the yogurt and apply the Canesten, for safety reasons!

Hope it clears up soon, (and just as you were getting some relief!)

Jenni it needs to be a good live yoghurt .

Easy yo sort or make your own .Stuff like atimil i think its live but been messed about and not anything like your own hand made .Has more culures in it and better ones .
Julian greaves sell easyyo pack to makee your own and lakeland do a yoghurt maker which i have .
eating it every day they say it helps scleroderma tummy and bowel .

my own tastes nicer then the stuff you buy .
Not sure what you meant too do with it in terms of trush i think you might put it on a tampon and put some up ?????not sure .

but someone like me its good as i can be on long term anti bo ics .

its nice on weetabix cerals and you can make quite a lot with it .

i like my lake land maker the best i sometimes use easyyo in the maker if on holiday
i use any milk even skimed you heat and reduce with out boiling the cool too warm then mix it with live youhurt and 2 hours a litir of creamie yoghurt .easyyo you mix with water it takes 8 hours
its not sour like some people think .I am not fond off easyyo flaveroed yoghurt like the plain

Hi Jenni,

I can also whole-heartedly recommend the natural yoghurt treatment.

May I suggest you let it reach room temperature first ... not so pleasant straight from the fridge Smile

Without too many graphic details, apply some on the offending area as well as a sanitary pad ... this will give you maximum relief and get the job done quickest.

Hope it goes away soon!!

But if this doesn't clear it away quickly, Canestan duo will.

Take care Jenni

Much love

Tend to disagree with you Jean. I have found that a tampon soaked in live yoghurt provides relief and can treat the problem just as quickly as Canestan duo .

love,

Barbara

Now that's really interesting Barbara. I had shocking thrush for almost the whole of my pregnancy and the yog. didn't do any good. Maybe it was someting to do with the pregnancy hormones?
Take care, all of you

Your question made me think of my friend. A fair few years ago she had heard about the yoghurt treatment but was not sensible enough to ask how to apply it. She got an empty suntan lotion bottle and filled it with the youghurt. Unfortunately, when she applied it to the appropriate place, she didn't think it was going in. She got a bit over enthusiatic, squeezed the bottle and created a vaccum so she couldn't get it out! Blushing She was laid on the bathroom floor trying to stab the bottle with a pair of scissors to break the vaccum and the gas man was knocking on the door asking to read her meter! Blushing LOL

She now uses the tampon method as Barbara suggested. Hope you get some relief.

oh my! I can picture that scene!!! funny ----but the poor woman!!!

Ther GP usually prescribes me one tablet which does the trick straight away. I would suggest both along with warm salt baths for the itching. (Can't remember if you can get in the bath tho?)If you can't then just bathing the aea with salt water is good.

yes but knowing you Jenni I bet you've bought toffee fudge yogurt or some such RollEyes

By the way jenni, whenever my GP gives me antibiotics I ask if I can have a thrush tablet as they usually end up giving me thrush.

Sorry to hear that Jenni- but Julie- what a storyLOL

Talking of thrush mishaps though- I was in bed and decided to apply some canesten. I got the tube out of the bedside cabinet, applied it vigorously- only to find that I'd picked up a tube of deep heat instead!!!!!!!!!

owch!

EYES WATERING here- deep heat OWWWWWW!
Blushing LOL

it reminds me of one of the stories Richard tells of his training stint on A and E night shifts- the elderly amorous gentleman who had been fixing the bedside cabinet and thought he had got full marks for thinking of the KY jelly, liberally applied and discovered the super glue instead......

if there ever was an advert for specsavers eh?BigGrin
